Important Discussion:
The committee ranked 11 demonstration project requests for funds from the
Livable Communities Demonstration Account (LCDA). The scoring is a complicated
two tier process which the committee will complete the following week with recommendations
to go to the Council for funding. Requests for funding total $10.7 million
while the fund has only $9.0 million available. Two projects had already
been determined to not meet the score criteria for further consideration.
The number of projects was lower than in previous years. Discussion thoughtfully
considered the innovation of the projects and their potential for integrating
into and enhancing metro systems and objectives. Several members mentioned
visiting the site of the proposals.
Decisions Made:
Final recommendations to be made next week.
Other Comments:
The committee is made up of those with expertise in local government, development
finance, development, transportation, environment and site design.
There was no advance agenda. One was available at the meeting.
