Dear Friends:

On behalf of the Leaders of Today and Tomorrow (LOTT) Advisory Board, I am writing to invite you to an exciting and thought provoking event.

Our annual January LOTT seminar, "Women Making a Difference in Public Policy," encourages college women to develop an interest and appreciation for involvement in the many different areas of public policy and public life.  This year, we are expecting over 45 students from across the state of Minnesota (and a few from Wisconsin and North Dakota) to participate in this 3 day conference.

Every year we look forward to you joining us for an enjoyable evening to meet exceptionally bright young women from across the state, all of whom are excited to become involved in the public policy community.  This year I am delighted to share with you the opportunity to hear from Maureen Reed.

Dr. Maureen Reed grew up in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, and graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School.  She practiced internal medicine in the Twin Cities for more than two decades, served as President of Aspen Medical Group, and later became the Medical Director of HealthPartners.  Dr. Reed was also a member of the University of Minnesota Board of Regents for eight years.  Furthermore, because of her concern about the soaring costs of medical care and the worsening problem of uninsured citizens, Dr. Reed ran for Lt. Governor with Peter Hutchinson in 2006 with the Independence Party.  She continues to be involved with Minnesota health care reform and is a member of the Governor's Health Care Transformation Task Force.

We invite you to participate in this special event, which will also serve as our 13th Annual Rosalie Wahl Benefit to raise scholarship funds for conference participants.

The opening social hour and dinner will take place at 6:30 p.m. on January 17, 2008 at the Park Plaza Hotel, Bloomington.  Because we need to cover the expense of food, and because this event is serving as a fundraiser for the Rosalie Wahl Scholarship Fund, the suggested donation for this event will be $60 per person.

Please RSVP by January 8th with the enclosed response card; or by emailing LOTT.  Please respond early as we are offering this special opportunity to all of our friends and have a limited number of seats available.

Thank you for your continued support of LOTT.  We hope to see you on January 17!

Sincerely,

Christy Dording
LOTT Project Director
