The State of Democracy

 The State of Democracy project, generously funded by The Joyce Foundation, brings together citizens, organizations and elected officials throughout the state of Minnesota to assess and improve the health of the democracy in our state.

 We seek to:

• Raise public awareness of the state of democracy in Minnesota
• Analyze threats and safeguards to the system
• Develop and implement strategies and recommendations to ensure citizen confidence in the integrity of Minnesota's democratic institutions
• Foster communication between organizations, citizens and elected officials on the reform agenda
• Collaborate and assist in capacity building among groups working on various aspects of the democracy agenda
