Wayzata, Plymouth Area
The LWV of Wayzata Plymouth Area was first recognized as an official local League in 1954 after working to develop community relationships. In 1986, the name was changed to LWV Wayzata Plymouth Area. Wayzata was and continues to be a core city, an old, established community, but the growth was taking place in the Plymouth Area.
WPA covers candidate forums for the Legislative Districts in our community, City Council Forums in all surrounding areas as well as the School Board Forums for the Districts of Wayzata, Westonka and Orono.
WPA has a great relationship with the students of these districts who help at our candidate forums.
Twice a year, we participate with the West Metro Alliance to produce a regional program. This past year was “Welcome our Neighbors” and “Mental Illness in Minnesota.” Our West Metro programs may be watched on the St. Louis Park City web site. WPA also hold local programs monthly.

"There are three classes of people. Those who make things happen; those who watch things happen; and the overwhelming majority who have no idea what is happening. Save a friend from the majority...bring them to a league meeting."
