  • In person- Charter House, Northview Room, 3rd Floor (map)

  • Zoom

Jean Binkovitz of Rochester began practicing immigration law in 1989 and is well-versed in the complex areas of naturalization and citizenship. She has written and taught about the law and is a past winner of the Mayor’s Award for service to the immigrant community.

Jean will join us via Zoom from Arizona to discuss the current crisis facing immigrants in Minnesota and throughout the United States. This is a complex problem which poses many questions as we observe immigrants being taken into custody by ICE officers.

  • What are their rights as immigrants?

  • Are they entitled to Constitutional protection?

  • Are laws being broken by ICE officers?

  • Are they entitled to legal representation?

  • Where are they being held?

  • Does local law enforcement have any means of follow-up or authority once an individual is in ICE custody?

Please join us for this timely conversation and become better informed citizens.
