The Willmar Area League of Women Voters in partnership with the City of Willmar and the Kandiyohi County Area Family YMCA are hosting the 1st Annual “Healthy Earth, Healthy Kids event - a community eco fair featuring YMCA Healthy Kids Day” on Saturday, April 27th, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Willmar Civic Center!

This free event welcomes all, young and old, to learn how to make healthy choices for themselves and their Earth. A variety of exhibitors related to eco-friendly living and youth resources will be set up throughout the day. Youth can participate in the YMCA Kids Passport activity to receive stamps from exhibitors they visit and become eligible to win prizes.

The YMCA will be hosting a free Kids Color Fun Run beginning at 11:00 A.M. T-shirts will be given to the first 200 youth in attendance. Parents are invited to listen to a guest speaker on children's health taking place prior to the run at 10:15 A.M. Other youth activities will be available throughout the day.

• Jane Dow: How Plastic is Harming Planetary Life and Actions You Can Take -11:45 A.M.

• CERTs (Clean Energy Resource Teams): Energy Efficiency in the Home -12:45 P.M.

• Great River Energy: Knowing EV’s with GRE -1:15 P.M.
